“Thank you to Hillary Clinton and my dead pets.”
The 41st season premiere of Saturday Night Live debuted on October 03, 2015 with Miley Cyrus as the host and musical guest. The season advances with its returning cast from season 40, plus the addition of a new featured member, Jon Rudnitsky.
This surprisingly solid episode ranged from a special cameo by democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton to a casual commemoration of this past summer; the folks who made 2015 memorable danced off into the horizon. Overall, the sketches were a political extravaganza with Taylor Swift parodies thrown into the mix. The Weekend Update segment had a strong return with Colin Jost and Michael Che continuing their positions as co-anchors. Jokes varied from the Pope’s visit to the United States, to relationship advice about the benefits of one-night stands.
Prepare to laugh-out-loud all over again next week as rookie, Amy Schumer takes the stage on October 10. Following the first-time host, the stakes will be high as Tracy Morgan returns to make his recovery debut on October 17.
