The Folsom Chamber of Commerce hosted two political debates for the candidates running for local offices this past month. These events, held respectively on March 15 and March 29, debuted at the Harris Center and were free to the open public. I had the privilege to assist with the events, being the time-keeper for the moderator, and it was a neat experience to see firsthand. Since the California Caucus is approaching in a few months, the panel of nine discussed local issues for the Folsom area, such as the cost of minimum wage and the controversy of community safety. The panel included the likes of Kevin Kiley, Cristi Nelson, and many other passionate individuals who want to help improve their community. For a more indepth perspective, a rerun of the debates themselves can be viewed on the Folsom Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook page; the link is provided below. Be sure to cast your vote on Tuesday, June 7th!
