On April 8th, the west coast regional Enactus competition was held at the Orange County Hyatt Regency. Our own team from Folsom Lake College presented their annual report of the various projects that they had done over the year. Most notably highlighting the FLC Career Fair, Mock Interview Day, and a the new Global Entrepreneurship Certificate Program that will be offered at Folsom Lake College. Members of the team included Michael Chaoui, Jonathon Mougharbel, Dane Willis, and Kenny Yong.
Enactus, formerly known as SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) is a competitive business club that has a presence on college and university campuses all over the world. Enactus team members work on projects throughout the year that aim to improve the community locally or internationally. In the Spring, they go to competition and present their annual reports followed by a 17 minute presentation in front of a panel of judges. Notable universities that were in FLC's league included UC Berkeley, University of Southern California, University of Arizona, and Cal Poly Pomona.
The great thing about these competitions is that some of the biggest companies in America attend these presentations and hold recruitment fairs. These companies know that there is great talent at these events, so they look to meet potential interns and employees (if you are about to graduate).
This is an amazing club for FLC students looking to major in business, marketing, engineering, or anyone that possesses an entrepreneurial spirit. It looks excellent on resumes, scholarships applications, and college applications.
Our FLC Enactus team will be competing at the National Competition in Kansas City, MO from May 20 - May 24.
