Scratch that, New Years Goals is more like it. Why do we choose to make “resolutions”? What does that even mean? Well, according to one of the many definitions on dictionary.com, a resolution is primarily a change in the state of mind towards resolving. It is a way of taking action towards the resolution of some conflict, issue, or problem you may be facing. But why make a resolution to fight something, when you can make a goal to change something?
Instead of being driven by fear, such as the fear of gaining too much weight, not fitting in your clothing, or not exercising enough, make a goal to change your behaviors. Don’t just change your diet, change how you view the food you eat. For example, when you research what to incorporate our take out of your diet, make sure you stay true to yourself as well. Don’t eat things that you know you dislike to your core, because it will simply make your new diet that much more difficult to maintain. However, be open to new food ideas as well. For example, instead of eating plain yogurt for breakfast every day, eat plain yogurt with blueberries and whole grains. Feel free to mix and match foods as you like, and while most healthy foods tend to taste bland on their own, when you mix them together, they can make for some fantastic concoctions!

If you have not been to Snowglobe, do yourself a favor and make a point of going next year. For those of you who have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, let me explain. Snowglobe is an outdoor music festival held in South Lake Tahoe every December 29th -31th. Now, an outdoor, nighttime music festival in Tahoe in the middle of winter might seem like more of a punishment than something one would willingly pay money for but believe me, the below freezing temperatures are barely even noticeable. This was due to the fact that you're smashed in a crowd jumping up and down and dancing with hundreds of other people.
