This morning I laughed. While skimming through an online newsfeed I read the tagline, “The Martian is out of this world”. This sentence is an obvious understatement seeing how the premise is about an astronaut stranded on Mars. He is literally out of this earthly world. So yeah, I laughed.
Ridley Scott’s sci-fi thriller, The Martian was released October 02. The stellar cast includes Matt Damon, Jeff Daniels, Kirsten Wiig, and Jessica Chastain among others. The group provides a captivating performance featuring the risks of space travel. The visuals are stunning, absolutely breathtaking. They emit an aura of inspiration and beauty, the idea that there truly is more than just a lifespan on earth; Earth is a tiny spec within a colossal galaxy.
The Martian has been questioned to be the prequel of Interstellar, which coincidently had Matt Damon appear as as stranded astronaut. The movie written by Drew Goddard is actually based off Andy Weir’s book with the same title. The Martian has also been speculated to be a true story, which from what science has gathered over the years we’ve come to the consensus that no human in the history of ever has set foot on Mars. Thus, the movie is not real. It is however adventurous, humorous, and perilous. It’s also rated PG-13 for action and language. Go see it now while you can! I solemnly swear it’s out of this world.
