Folsom Lake College's Online Newspaper

It’s that time of the year again where students start preparing for the upcoming fall semester! At least, it is that time where opportunities present themselves for the students to prepare for the next academic school year. One of the many opportunities is applying for scholarships!
Folsom Lake College, as well as all Los Rios Community Colleges, offer scholarships through scholarship.losrios.edu. The application is open to students until March 2, 2018, at 4:00pm.
Students will need to get at least one letter of recommendation from someone who works at the college (though, some scholarships require more than one letter of recommendation), to answer the written questions thoroughly (remember that there will be multiple people applying for these scholarships, so applicants should want to stand out), to submit supplemental and/or additional information for select scholarships and to make sure all information given is correct.
Students are advised to read over their application and to get someone to look over their application. The Writing Centers at each FLC center are a great resource for this.
In addition to visiting the Writing Center, there will be informational sessions at the El Dorado Center, Main Campus and Rancho Cordova Center:
El Dorado Center: 2.20.18 12:00-1:00pm Prairie Falcon Room
Folsom Lake College: 2.21.18 12:00-1:00pm FL3-165
Rancho Cordova Center: 2.22.18 12:00-1:00pm Entry Hall (under the flags)
Students can also email Anne Ward, who coordinates the scholarship application and award process for the Folsom Lake College Foundation, with any questions at WardA@flc.losrios.edu.
