Just thirty minutes away from Folsom Lake College’s main campus in Folsom, there exists a serene a little gem that is sure to make anyone feel the warm happiness of fall: Apple Ridge Farms. Located on a meandering street in Camino, and part of the Apple Hill community, Apple Ridge Farms provides a fun day trip for a couple, friends, or family.
While you can’t go into the pens with these goats and sheep, there are holes in the fences, which the animals stick their heads out of. For just 25¢, you can buy a small cup full of goat food that will help lure them all your way. Even if you don’t buy any food, you can still pet them. Be careful, though! Sometimes these little guys think that inedible objects (such as hair or fingers) are food, so it is possible that they bite! However, most of the animals in this pen are babies, so none of them bite too hard at all.
The food was absolutely heavenly. Not only did they have these delicious-looking treats, but they also had an entire refrigerator full of various types of pie that you can take home and bake! The food may be the aspect of Apple Ridge Farms that will cause me to go back there--it was that good.
Caramel Apple flavors include: Apple Pie, Pecan Turtle, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Worms and Dirt
Going to a pumpkin patch is a fall necessity. It’s just something about their smell and feel; they’re an instant happiness booster. No matter what mood you’re in, a pumpkin patch will make you feel just wonderful this fall season. Finding the perfect pumpkin won’t be too difficult at this patch either! While not too large, the pumpkin patch at Apple Ridge Farms has a great variety of different sized pumpkins, which are all fairly priced.
There are many more aspects to Apple Ridge Farm in addition to all these other activities. For example, there is a hay maze, face painting, and many little shops set up with fun, unique merchandise.
If any of this sounds appealing to you, go to Apple Ridge Farm! It’s a very pleasant, yet inexpensive place that is sure to bring you joy and entertainment this fall. If you’re thinking of going, Apple Ridge Farms is located at 1800 Larsen Drive, Camino.
